Current Employment Openings with the City of Keyser
The City of Keyser is seeking applications for the position of part-time City Administrator.
This position oversees the operation of a municipality and carries out the decisions of the City Council and the Mayor. Applicant must work well with elected city officials and have strong management skills.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to; Participates in a variety of financial activities alongside the Finance Commissioner. Coordinates economic development activities to include meeting with developers and businesses. Oversees and pursues grants, awards, and designations for all areas of the city to create funding and opportunities. Represents the City with federal, state, county and regional agencies; Advocates for the City of proposed legislation and program regulations. Addresses and/or meets and confers with local business groups, individuals, citizen groups, media, and other governmental officials regarding issues, needs, and problems facing the city. Oversees and manages all City liability insurance policies. Directs all personnel matters as provided by the Personnel Policy of the City. Serves as the city recorder and election official for all city elections.
The ideal candidate must possess good character and integrity, strong planning skills, experience in community development, solid financial skills, and strong oral and written communication skills. A bachelor’s degree in political science, business administration, public administration, or any other related field and/or experience in local government is preferred.
