Lifeguard

 Applications can be picked up and dropped off at City Hall, Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm.

If you are a returning lifeguard from last season, please stop in City Hall to get the necessary paperwork filled out as soon as possible.

If you are 15 years old (must be 15 before June 1st), you will need a work permit

Pool Manager 

(competitive salary based on experience and qualifications)

Primary responsibilities of the Pool Manager’s include but are not limited to the following:

Supervising and evaluating lifeguards (including training or coordination of training).

Implementing staff schedules and daily assignments.

Communicating/Working with City Personnel to maintain a clean, safe and orderly facility.

Maintain organized records of all pool functions.

The City of Keyser has an immediate opening for a full-time, licensed, Class II Water Treatment Plant Operator. The position requires weekend and some overtime work. Based upon the job, the hours will vary. You must possess a valid driver's license and successfully complete a background check and drug screening. Keyser Police Civil Service Commission

The Keyser Police Civil Service Commission is accepting applications for the Keyser Police Department. The starting uncertified salary is $32,000 with an increase to $36,000 after certification through the West Virginia Law Enforcement Academy. Previously certified law enforcement officers are eligible to receive a one-time $2,500 sign-on bonus. Applications may be obtained at the city Police Department on N. Job Requirements

  • Age: 18 to 40

  • Education: High School Diploma / GED

  • No criminal history

  • No illegal drug history

  • Must be able to pass a background check, drug screen, and polygraph

  • Must successfully complete an examination by a physician and psychologist

  • Must successfully pass a physical fitness assessment, oral board and/or exam administrated by the Civil Service Commission

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

  • Must be able to become certified through the West Virginia Law Enforcement Academy

  • Applicants must be able to work all shifts, holidays, and weekends.

  • Starting uncertified salary: $32,000
